Using primarily for MCE, what is the best version for me? I have the hardware
capable of 64bt version but is there a reason it would be better? Looking
primarily at software and driver compatability.

Regardless of what the 64bit fan boys will try to tell you it is not the
best choice for most people AT THIS TIME. There are still significant
hardware driver and software compatibility issues with 64bit Vista. I
found that out in my testing of Vista x64 vs x86.

As far as I know the CPP program is still open for RC1. So you can
download and try the 64bit version yourself. If MCE is your primary use
make sure the TV tuner you want to use has Vista x64 drivers.

However, this is still a testing stage and final release considerations such
as you point out do not apply. The poster should try both editions if he
can so that he can report issues needing to be fixed.
