Here's my problem no matter what game I try running from Chess titans, to
benchmark demos ( cascade), to Vanguard SOH as soon as the program starts the
screen flips black and kicks me to the desktop giving me the "Your Video
driver has failed and was able to recover" error.

The suggested fix from vista is to check for latest drivers (see below) or
to turn off hardware accelleration (which for gaming is a no go, most games
won't even launch with acceleration off.

Ok I've tried all the latest nvidia drivers from released to beta driver (
currently using 101.70 from guru3d.com) I'm running the latest driver for my
asusu board which is 1002 i think. Also downloaded that latest Direct X
runtime (Apr 2 release i believe)

My sig has all my current hardware, if you have any sugestions lemme know.

I had some of those problems also with my asus board. I thought i had video
driver problems but when i traced it all out it turned to be my Realtek
ac'97 sound. I disabled the onboard sound in the bio's to test the theory.
If it is the sound card then download the newest drivers from Realtek. hope
this helps!

The Beta drivers work okay here (Except things I have with XP are
missing of course) but my MB and card are too different for a sensible
comparison, however you MUST uninstall any video drivers before trying a
new version on this machine so maybe that would help with yours. I can
only get this stable by starting clean. I agree too about the sound card.

well I've tried disabling my audio in bios, no change. updated audio driver,
no change. tried linking my Ram no change, tried taking out a 1 stick still
no go. Compleatly reformated, reinstalled vista, instaleed the new 158.18
drivers. Still get the Nvlldmkm error.

Now here's the fun part tried going back to windows xp home edition and it
won't go online for some reason it won't recognize the network adapter's
driver or something and it has ? on half my motherboards drivers. So
uninstalled it and have vista in yet again.
