For the most part, yes. There are some programs (like antivirus and some
system utilities) that won't run and you should not force to run but
mainstream apps, games and such should be just fine.

if it's any like XP64, then sure, why not. Some antivir progs are not
running even in vista 32, so i guess those are which won't run in 64...
But, what's the point of running vista64 if none of programs you install are
64 bit ? I run XP 64 for a few months and all 64 bit i have is more or less
IE and OE... Those two, i admit, open in a flash. But, then there's a
problem with drivers...(like i have old ACER SCSI scanner for which 64 bit
driver doesn't exists nor for scaner or SCSI card)...then until recently
i've had XEROX 3117 laser printer which 64 drivers are also non- existive. I
have better luck with new konica minolta 2500W color laser, though....but no
luck with scanner, and i hate buying a new one jsut for occasional
scanning...

If anyone have some good reasons for going into 64 bit, i'd lie to hear, it'
will be easier to decide...

Personally I have found that many won't run. If you can, best bet is dual
boot and try it. I replaced a lot of programs going to XP x64 and many of
my programs won't run now on Vista 32 or 64.

Heck, a lot of 32 bit programs won't run in the 32 bit version. It's a
matter of try and see if it does.

Hi,

32 bit software generally runs ok, it's 32 bit software that includes driver
files that sometimes has issues. If the driver files aren't vista
compatible, the application falls over. Common ones that have driver issues
include AV and CD/DVD writing software.
