This seems to be due to a security feature of Windows. (XP has this
characteristic as well). You can resolve the problem of unaccessible folders
by disabiling file sharing and, if necessary, taking ownership of the folder.
Disable file sharing by clicking start, then click on "network", then click
on "Network and sharing center" and click on the radio button next to file
sharing and turn it off. (I don't think you can take ownership of a folder if
file sharing is "ON"... since this would make your 'puter vulnerable to
attack)
That's part one... part two is below. This is from Windows Help:
To take ownership of a folder
Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click
Properties.
Click the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
Click Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or
confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the name of the person you want to give ownership to. (I give it to
"Everyone"...cuz it's the only way I can get it to work right)
If you want that person to be the owner of files and subfolders in this
folder, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
Click OK.
You should then be able to open the folder.
