Hi - I just got the e-mail from Microsoft with the link to download Vista
RC1. Is Build 5536 RC1?

Thanks

Joe

Hello Joe727,

No 5536 is not RC1. Build 5536.16385 is the Pre-RC1 build that was released
to the technical testers last week. If you want to download and install it,
please do. It will help MS greatly with the bugs that the public files. Also
if you do install see my post "suggestion for 5536"

OK, I am currently running a Dual Boot, on seperate hard disks. Just FYI

One is an XP Pro build, the other is Vista Beta 2 Build 5384 X64 Bit
I just downloaded and burned Build 5536, (Pre RC-1), but it is X86, not X64
like the current version.

What is the best way to load this new build?
Clean Install again?
Any problems considering the old is X64, new is X86?

Hey All,
Just tried to install doing an upgrade from Beta 2 x86 and it would not
install.

Not sure I understand what key to use. I have the 20 char key.
Is that the key I use for the download?

This link lets me downlaod an ISO but it is only 907 bytes. I don't
understand what this ISO is. My ISO tools don't seem to recognize the
format. Yet I'm familiar with other ISO's. Not sure what is going here.

Thanks

Succesful here. Just stuck my new DVD in while signed in to Vista Beta 2,
it gave the upgrade option...now am at 5536. Some problems afterwards but
expected.

Same here, try the direct link, since the d/l-manager - or what ever - seems
to be broken!

Hello JCO,

Try redownloading with out the download manager. It is slower but as far
as I know it works.

It's finally working. Just took 20-30 trys before it recognized the correct
size and began to download. Also, I installed DAP (my old version 5.3 is my
favorite) as a download manager. That way I was able to right click on the
link and had the option "Download with DAP". I selected that... and it
began to download correctly too.

DAP is a free download manager.
