Vista 5472 cant get Lan to work(internet conn. ok)

I'm using a vista 5472 computer which runs through an XP system to the
internet.

The internet connection part is okay but I can't get it to connect to the
XP, I've tried everything but no Lan.

I even reinstalled 5472 twice to see if that would do but no luck.

Any help on this would be appreciated...thanks...John

Workgroup matches between XP and Vista?
 
Check your Networking Setting's: Public Network = Limited Networking
Discovery Takes Place, and File, Printer, and Internet Sharing are Disabled,
just FYI. Try Changing The Network Setting's to a Private Network, if
Possible.
