Hello,
I have prevoiusly used MS AntiSpyware on XP, which I was very happy with,
but I can't get it to install on Vista 5231.

I first deleted temporary files from E:\Windows\temp (by the way, are you
aware that running E:\Windows/temp also opens up the temporary directory).

During installation while registering class servers, I get "Error 1406.Could
not write value InprockServer32 to key
\CLSID\{0002E005-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}InprocServer32. Verify you have
sufficient access to that key ............."

I tried to change permisions on
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0002E005-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} but i get
"Unable to save permission changes on {0002E005-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
Access is denied"

I then "ignore" this error and continue, it comes up again a few times, and
is then installed. ... Actually I have reinstalled it while writing this post
and it seems to be working OK now :| .. The problem was that wen I closed the
program, it would exit instead of minimizing to tray. The problem may have
been after rebooting so I'll reboot and see what happens.

The other problem I have is when searching in MS newsgroups, for example,
when I search in the Vista newsgroup, I get results from all over the place,
XP, Access, and a lot of other nonrelated posts. Why does this happen?

OK .. I rebooted and all seems fine, except that in the Windows Security
Center the Spyware Protection tab was set to OFF, upon trying to enable this,
Windows Security Center said it was unable to fix Windows Antispyware, so I
have checked the checkbox to say that I am using other antispyware to
temporarily ignore the problem, but I do not really like it like this.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Regards
Criminet.

Fwiw, I see this as well, whether or not UAP is on. Ignored it, and all
seems well, in uap-off mode. Suspect this will work very differently in
beta2 (of both!)
