Visiting Hotmail from a browser on Mac OS

I just added Mac to my home network, and I can't visit Hotmail from Safari
or Opera on it, although Firefox on the Mac does take me there. I can still
visit Hotmail from all three on my PC. I have long had an account with a
Windows Live ID.

On Safari I get a message box titled "Sign in to Hotmail," with the message:

"Windows Live is unavailable from this site for one of the following
reasons: This site may be experiencing a problem [or] This site may not be a
member of Windows Live ID."

I'd appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks a lot!

On Opera for Mac I get either: " Incorrect Windows Live ID or Password," or
"Please type your e-mail address in the format (e-mail address removed)," which
is what I did.

I have Windows XP.

Yes, but, instead of Mac. Or try doing a dual-boot or virtual machine.

And any version of Microsoft Windows will work. (I think)

After further research, I found out that many people with msn.com e-mail
addresses have been having this problem for several weeks, from all platforms
and various browsers. I contacted Microsoft, who sent me the following reply
(excerpted):

"Thank you for contacting Windows Live Hotmail Technical Support. You have
received this automated response since you chose the following option in the
Windows Live Support eForm.:

'I am using the Safari Web browser' OR 'I am unable to connect using other
browsers'

For Safari Users:

We would like to inform you that we’ve identified the root cause of the
issue you’re experiencing and have tested and verified that our solution
works. We will make this solution live in the next few weeks. We thank you
for your patience while we resolved this issue...."
