visited links font color changed unexpectedly

Jeff

Every link that has been clicked on changes color and I
use that to keep track of all the pages that I've been
to.

But the font color sometimes changes back to the blue,
i.e. resets itself. Why does it do that and what is the
control for Explorer to always remember every link that
has been clicked on?

I don't think it's related to History because I've set my
History to 365 days and yet the visited links still
changed back to blue.

Search on Help in Explorer and the Knowledge Base yields
a very frustrating nothing on this topic. Thanks

Jeff,
Possibly your History folder is corrupt:
[XP\2K]
Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username> folder(s).
