VisionTek Xtasy 9600 (Ati chip 256 meg) Any good???

My son was told by a salesman at Fry's that this card with the 256 meg
would perform like a 9800. (I know, don't believe everything you
hear!) Does anyone have the card? If so can you give me your opinion
of the card or if we get it sould/can it be tweeked for better
performance. We were looking to spend < $200 for the card.

Maybe he was talking about the 9800 SE?
You can judge the performance somewhat by the price.

The lowest price I have seen for the 9800 is $259 at newegg.com and they
have the 9600 256MB for $123 so I don't think they would perform the same at
a big cost difference. I think for under $200 your best bet is still the
9600 and you can get the 9600XT 256MB for $185 at newegg.com
