Visioneer Driver Problem...................

Hi Guys,

I asked for advice a week or so back as regards A friend of mine damaging
his disc for the Visioneer 42 bit Scanner, now he can't install his scanner
because you have to install the driver through PaperPort. I would really
appreciate it if someone could please point me in the right direction.

I am not to hot on the computer myself so simple basics would be of great
help.

I got a good response from Wayne who kindly started me off at Visioneer
support:

I tried that and downloaded the appropriate drivers, but the scanner will
still not install. I hunted around, and the info I managed to get, all
pointed at the same thing which was "The scanner drivers can only be
installed through the PaperPort Software on the install CD"

The scanner is 2 and a half years old, which is out of warranty, but I
would really appreciate it ever so much if can anyone please help, because
my friend is going to bin the scanner if he can't get it up and running,
which would be a crying shame as it is in excellent condtion.

The scanner is a Visioneer 42bit and the model number is: FU661E.

Did you read the instructions for XP?

The driver is named 42bit.exe. Double click to run.
