Dear All,
Is there a way to make the hitcounter visible only to me (the webmaster)?
TIA
Raffi

You would have to use a transparent GIF image for the numbers, and then open the site in FP and look
at the pagename.htm.cnt file in the _private folder.

If you feel your current issue is a results of installing
a Service Pack or security update, please contact

If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.

What the difference in a user installed hit counter and those
furnished by the control panel? Control panel seems to give me the
statistics I'm looking for, but I may be missing something.

Why? It should be invisible.

But, if you think so, why don't you just write your own hit counter,
"webmaster"? It's pretty simple stuff.

The best option is to have access to your server stats, which gives you details about your visitors,
like how long they view certain pages, the page they enter the site on, the link that were followed,
etc. A hit counter just counts the number of times the page was requested from the server.

That is my take on hit counters too. I just thought I may be missing
something, because there seems to be many people still doing hit
counters.
