Assuming Vista is something you can uninstall through XP's Add or Remove
Programs.

Synonym: Vistastrophe

how could you uninstall an operating system from within another operating
system.

it could conceivably make sense if you were running vista encapsulated in a
virtual PC, but even then it's still outside the domain of XP's installed
programs list.

Tim, indeed what you say does not seem possible..
However there were 2 OS that you could install in windows 98 and you could
install them from within win98

One was a version of linux (Linux2000 I think it was called?) and the other
was BeOS.
These created disk images on your hard disk.... and you could reboot to
them...

Installation and uninstall was done from within windows98

I would offer a conservative estimate that at least 200 different threads in
this forum are from people who need help and specifically request that they
want to uninstall Vista. Yes, we know it isn't possible. However, the
average user believes that Vista and yahoo messenger, can be both installed
and uninstalled with ease.
