After a fuse blowing in my PC, ive been getting a message
saying that my virtual memory is low. Ive checked and
increased the memory. It was set to approx twice the RAM
(being 96mb) and its now set to nearly x6 the RAM and im
still getting messages saying that I dont have enough
memory to run programmes
Any ideas??? Any help would be greatly appreciated

96 MB of RAM is quite inadequate for Windows XP, no matter what size you
specify for the paging file. You need at least 256MB of fast (DDR-SDRAM or
RDRAM) memory for adequate performance, and 512MB is even better.

This is what was supplied with the machine! Up till now
ive had no problems whatsoever so this has confused me a
little.!

Your problem isn't memory or anything like that. Your
problem is called Microsoft. Get rid of it and see how
much fun a computer really can be

With only 96 mb of RAM Windows is going to need a huge page file,
especially if you are using any large application programs such as
Microsoft Office.

You will get a very substantial improvement in the overall performance
of your computer if you increase the RAM to at least 256 mb.

Good luck
