When I try to enable weekly automatic scanning for viruses
using McAfee's 8.0 VirusScan, I get an Internet Explorer
"Script Error" that states, "The data area passed to a
system call is too small."

I'd appreciate any help anyone could give.

I got this too. McAfee's response to me was "reinstall virusscan",
which I did; when the problem happened again, their response again was
"reinstall", which I didn't.

Try "Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 264522". That may solve your problem.

I fail to see how that has anything at all to do with it...
