Please help. I am getting multiple e-mail rejects sent to
addresses I do not have in my address book. The rejects
are because:
The original message was received at Thu, 23 Oct 2003
15:24:35 -0400 (EDT)
from sccrmhc11.comcast.net [204.127.202.55]
554 TRANSACTION FAILED - Unrepairable Virus Detected. Your
mail has not been sent.
There are two attachements (I do not open them). One is
ATT000(and a number).dat is 466 B and the other is ATT000
(and a two digit numbe).txt and is 966 B. My ISP provider
told me Norton was having a problem and to turn off my
AntiVirus program. I don't think so. They tell me that
with their system (Comcast) no one can hijack my e-mail
address and send e-mails making it appear as if it is
coming from me. I have gotten a couple of hundred of
these. I have done a comple system scans with updated
virus definitions and no problem is indicated.
Thanks for any help you are able to give.

They probably did not originate from your system. A lot of viruses spoof
the FROM address and when they hit somebody's antivirus software the
response messages get sent to the spoofed address instead of the actual
sender. Not much you can do about it.
