Hi,

I received a message from a friend with whom I exchange emails regularly saying
that

"I got a message from you with the subject 'price'.

My Norton Antivirus email scan picked up a virus 'W32.Beagle.DL@mm' in an
attachment 'bbojkvpr.exe' and deleted the file. When I opened the email there
was an attached ZIP but there was no executable in it so I presume that's what
Norton means when it says it deleted the file."

I have not sent any message to him with that subject. I ran Norton AV that
comes with NSW 2004, Ad Aware and SpyBot - all with current defs - and nothing
was reported. I think that this indicates that my PC is clear especially as we
both run NAV with the same date defs unless this is one of those "root kit" type
trojans that are hidden from the view of NAV, Ad Aware and SpyBot.

I told him that the email was spoofed and that a trojan had probably collected
my email address from the address book on a PC owned by someone else who
corresponds with me. Unfortunately he has deleted the email so the headers
aren't available.

Comments anyone?
