I restarted my computer after running a free virus check
on housecall and now when i try to log in my computer it
logs me right back out.... please tell me i don't have to
reformat.... i tried logging in as admistrator also, same
problem. Please Help Thank you.

Try logging on via Safe Mode to see if that works - tap F8 repeatedly every
second while booting the computer to bring up the alternate boot menu and select
Safe Mode. If it works you have a problem with a startup program/service which
you will want to disable. You can use SpyBot Search and Destroy in advanced
mode, select tools for startup programs to selectively disable. If that does not
help try an upgrade install as described in the link below which will not
require a format but will require that you first install a service pack - at
least Service Pack 4 and then going to Windows Update to install critical
updates, but no more than five at a time. --- Steve

install cd and product key.

Yeah i tried to log on in safe mode... it takes forever,
and when i finally got it up, it logged me back on, i
tried it on admistrator also. I can't get on to download a
service pack... i am currently on my laptop....

Well if safe mode did not work, I would try an upgrade install. You don't have
to install the service pack to make it functional, but you will need to do that
and critical updates to make it secure. If you do not have a cable/dsl router
then make sure you install a firewall on it before connecting to the
nternet. -- Steve
