I have a lap top that my child was working on. He was
downloading games, and browsing the net. After he got done
the computer was very unstable. There were pop ups popping
up, and it was crashing. I checked for the blaster virus,
and it was not found. I updated and ran NAV, and it did
not find any viruses. I was able to remove all that was
installed, but it is still a little unstable. Periodically
the computer stops responding partially, and if I open the
Windows Task Manager it shows that IExplore is not
responding. The only way to remedy this is to do a hard
boot by pressing and holding the power button. It also
takes forever to load the few start up programs (NAV, etc)
to load on boot. When I go to shut down, sometimes a
dialog box pops up saying the IE.exe (?) is not responding
and it is trying to close it. I clock on End Now. There
are sometimes a few others that pop up also pertaining to
diff NAV processes.
I did find what I have found out to be a virus. It comes
with Purity Scan apparently. The apparent virus is
winservn.exe.
Any help would be appreciated.
