virus, trojan horse, etc... protection?

I am just wondering if microsoft antispyware detects
viruses, trojan horses, and the like???? I think I have
something on my computer, because my pictures keep
mysteriously deleting themselves. I had hundreds of
digital pix on my computer, and now the folders are
nearly empty???

Its easier for you to run some Antivirus scans
and Ewido to make sure the malware files have all been
deleted.(I'll list a few incase you have problems with
any)

Ewido :

Install Ewido.
During the installation, under "Additional Options"
uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via
context menu".
Launch Ewido
On the left side of the main screen click update.
Click on Start and let it update.
Then Run a Complete System Scan
