Every time I visit a certain web page it automatically
fowards me to another web page. How can I determine the
cause?

Note - this does not happen to other users using the same
PC.

I have monitored the Task Manager and see no odd
executables running when this happens.

I have deleted all cookies and temp files.

Norton Anit Virus detects no viruses on my PC.

I am running IE 6 under Windows XP. All MS updates have
been applied.

It is probably not a virus, but it may be a spyware - go and check
with adaware for exemple. (lavasoft product : www.lavasoft.nu)

Dealing with Unwanted Spyware
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis: Post your files to the
forum mentioned on the above page. Some of these bad guys have started
blocking users access to AdAware's and other's pages! More on this at
http://www.spywareinfo.net/sep16,2003.

If you cannot access the page to download HijackThis, use this link:

If you find you need CoolWebSearch Shredder, use this link:

(30 Sept-03: 1.21 is the latest version. Get a fresh copy of CWS Shredder
before each use.)
