Virus Strikes Ebay, Hundreds Die - Authorities Undertake Massive
Investigation
It was only a matter of time before a major virus struck Ebay. But no
one expected that the virus would kill the sellers rather than damage
their computers. It's been announced that several hundred Ebay
sellers have gone to their demise in the part two or three days due to
this virus. Yet, their computers live on as if nothing had happened.
Although the FBI and other governmental agencies are investigating
this serious matter, it's simply too late for many of these sellers,
and it's feared that many more will die before a cause is found.
Shutting down Ebay has been discussed, but Ebay management told
officials that they will lose a significant amount of revenue, and
they simply can not shut down while auctions are in progress. They
went on to say that those sellers who feel they are at risk should
shut their own computers down and seek medical advice. The FBI is
considering a court order which will force the online auction giant to
shut down their entire system until the cause of this virus can be
determined and stopped. Ebay replied by saying it's known that those
infected by this fatal virus have already been exposed and shutting
down the system will do nothing, because these people have already
been exposed, and the best they can do is warn all sellers to seek
medical attention as quickly as possible.
According to the latest records, there are at least 538 confirmed
deaths, all of which were Ebay sellers. So far not even one Ebay
buyer has died, which makes this appear as though this is a terrorist
activity purposely intended to kill Ebay sellers only. According to
one police report, several of these deceased Ebay sellers died within
minutes of receiving email messages complaining about their shipping
fees. It appears this could be tied to these deaths.
Authorities fear hundreds more will die before the cause of this virus
is determined and warn all Ebay sellers to shut their computers off
and seek medical care without further delay.
