Virus? strange things afoot.

Hi,

I run XPpro on a small home network. It works smoothly
enough. Or at least it did. This week things took a turn
for the worse. My firewall (Zone Alarm) shutsdown for
unknown reasons. My anti-Virus Program doesn't startup like
it used to. The various startup grograms which leave an
icon in the tray, will be closed. (SBL audio, LAN
connection)???

Meanwhile the comp boots, though slowly, most apps play
fine (games, word). I've used ad-aware to clear some
malware, but one keeps returning (BrowserAid/RegKey/Data
Miner). Used registry first aid to check for junk. AVG
found a virus (Trojan horse BackDoor.Jeemp) which it
'healed'. I've restored to a month old point with out
helping!!!

I'm about ready to back things up and format my harddrive!

Unless someone has an idea?

My idea is that you re-infected your computer when you
used a restore point. It is my understanding that
restore points are not cleaned by virus killers.
