Will Norton system 2003 work well for Win XP?
Any other Virus protection that is better?

Lynn,

You don't need System Works with XP. Norton makes an AV program without all
the extra bells & whistles of System Works which would, IMHO, be a better
choice if you choose to use Norton.

Norton is notorious for hogging system resources and you may want to explore
other AV software programs prior to making any decision. A good place to
start would be;

It is designed for XP HOWEVER it is very cpu intensive software and there
have been ppl who say they have problems running other applications from
within it.
I would highly suggest, if you want to stick with Norton (very good AV
software IMO) would be to go with Norton's Internet Security package which
incorporates antivirus protection, a good firewall, popup blocking, parental
controls, etc., etc.
I have used both the 2002 & 2003 flawlessly with XP. Go to www.symantec.com

Wouldn't the system Works help keep my system performing top speed by fixing
problems? What about norton ghost?

I'm running NSW '02 along with AVG from www.grisoft.com on an XP notebook
and a desktop without any problems at all. I find that the extra NSW tools
do provide very efficient means in helping to keep my systems working
smoothly. Since NSW '03 is expressly made to be compatible with XP, I don't
how you could go wrong in deciding to use it. You don't have to install all
of the package if you don't want to but, I'd say that WinDoctor and
CleanSweep are a must to install. If you've not made a purchase already, I
suggest shopping for a bundled package that includes Norton's Personal
Firewall or Internet Security. It would be an excellent value.
As to NSW being a resource hog, that may be true in some instances. However,
I ran it an XP machine with a 766mhz Celeron processor and 768 megs of
memory with no ill effects. You don't mention the specifics of your system
but, if you have at least 512 megs of memory and a 766mhx processor or above
and XP is running well, I'd say you'll be happy NSW.

I have a Win XP Pro, Athlon 2500+ 1.83 mhz, with a 120 gig HD, 512mb memory
64mb graphics. So I shouldn't have any problem with it being a hog. I just
put this system together ( my first attempt at building a PC, was VEY
surprised when it came on, LOL ), so I'm trying to get evrything I need to
keep it safe and running properly.
