virus protection?

So what are we supposed to use for virus protection on 5536?
Nothing seems to work or install properly!

McAfee VirusScan Enterprise Beta III Refresh works now. You can go to the
mcafee website and download it from the Enterprise downloads.

I haven't had any success so far with other products.

Free AVG.

You just have to launch it off the deskstop icon again after a restart.
Mostly.
 
Just to add:

AVG FREE works absolutly fine for me on Vista PR-1. The install went without
a hitch and it runs everytime I start up.

Free Avast failed on me. I followed the link in the security centre to
download PC-Cillin, works fine on 5536.
 
Symantec Antivirus for Vista (beta - 10.0.1.628) - part of Symantec Business
Pack appears to be working OK on 5536.

After installing PC-cillin Internet Security 14, the virus definition update
will not complete - gets down to last 2% of the downlad and then says my
internet connection has stopped working - which it has not. So it is
installed, but out of date.

Symantec products never worked right in XP let alone Vista ;)

I recommend AVG, and it seems to work with no issues in 5536
 
Try this - turn off the PC-Cillin Firewall and then do an update. Worked
for me just now.

I've been using AVG for a long time but was having a problem with the
resident shield in 5536. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but it
didn't help. I finally set it to run in compatibility mode to XP sp2 and it
is finally running the shield.
