Wow..this is confusing! I have a pc that is on a network.
All of a sudden one day the desktop was distorted like
little blocks all over it. We thought the video card was
bad. Video card is Radeon 9700 128mg. Tried another
monitor ,had same problem. Tried another card, had same
prob. It then would not boot into windows. I took out the
HD and added it as a D drive on another system. Worked
fine for a bit so i could copy files off and i was going
to reformat the drive, then...that pc started acting up.
The screen has blocks all over it and the OS is 98. Is
this a virus?Ran Mcafee and it saw no virus. I did have a
bad monitor and we hoked it up to the system with the
Radeon on it to see if the monitor was in fact bad...the
monitor was bad but could the monitor have done something
to the video card and it just keeps corrupting the OS"s??
PLEASE HELP!!! I am at my wits end!!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

.
Are you sure your video card is compatible with your Os
and ram and pc speed. This may be the problem.

We have had this Radeon in this PC sinceDecember. We have
a 2.8ghz IntelCPU and an Asus MB and the RAM Asus
recommended. See what made me think it was a virus was
because all of a sudden the video just started to do
this.....and as you go thru the different files and all
it gets worse till you just shut it off...
At first I did think the card was bad.....and maybe it
is...i just don't know! We did try another video card and
the desktop did get distorted again...sooo..i am going
crazy!
