Hello !
I've had this problem since weeks ago, that I've tried getting rid off with
a full reinstallation of the system, as was advised by the technical support
of the company that sold me this laptop: automatic scrolling of IE or
Outlook to the end of the page when using arrow up or the "PgUp" key, or
seeing the cursor move to the end of a line text in notepad or wordpad, or
whatever, when using the left key or the touchpad to move it. The "up" arrow
also is a problem sometimes when starting the system, because it will
automatically scroll down the Windows XP recuperation station, instead of
starting normally with windows. Sometimes, it seems to whimsically get
worse, as when in order to use the touchpad to click links or do anything, I
have to press "escape" or it won't work.
Yesterday, the 2nd reinstallation I've tried, the same problems began, even
though, in case it was a virus caught on the internet, I activated the
firewall before even going online. First thing I did was downloading any
critical windows/norton update available.
Could it be that in case this was a virus, it infected my personnal files
(pictures, music, docs) and that when copying them back onto the drive, I
thus reinfected myself ? By the way, after I started successfully copying 1
1/2 of my data CDs, the DVD-Rom drive wouldn't want to read CD-R or CD-WR,
only Norah Jones made it to the player...
Could the material be at fault, or is this a virus ? Which could it be, and
how to get rid of it ?
Thanks for any enlightening advise and/or info ;-), any help will be muchly
appreciated (lambda user here),
