virus on frontpage

Hi, on updating my website recently I noticed that there were pages being
updated that I had not done anything too at all. I have Mcaffee internet
security on my home comuter and Norton on my parents computer which I am
using now - is it possible that a virus would infect my website and hence
onto the remote server when I update the website? Both computers update
automatically so are never out of date. I don't particularly have any
problems with my website I am just worried about the updates to pages -
photos expecially that I had done nothing to?
regards,
Jacquie

What type of updating is happening? Do you use shared border or FP navigation / Themes? If yes, have
you made any changes to any of these items?

Yes, it's possible the web site on the server has been infected. It's also
possible it's been hacked and someone is uploading changes, or someone else
is working on the web site.

Hi,
thanks for your answers.
I have just viewed my remote website in frontpage and cannot see that the
photos that it 'apparently updated' on the 25th as being listed as modified
on that date. I do have a frame on all main pages which is a last updated
frame however on some of the photos which frontpage listed on the 25th as
being updated this frame does not appear and they do not now show on the
remote website as being updated. I don't think anyone would hack into my
website and can't see any changes made that I have not made myself. I am
worried if it is possible that a 'whatever it is called ' could insert code
which allows popups to get on the site or something similar - is this
possible or am I being totally daft?
thanks anyway for all your patience and great advice even if it propbably
seems like going back to kindergarten sometimes - sorry folks!

I have had this happen twice to ONE domain on the server I manage - total
over 70 domains, all created with FP I scoured the logs and can;t even see
the FTP connection when the index file was uploaded..

A few lines of code was added -- both iframe tags to malicious sites, once
at the top of the page the 2nd time at the bottom.. The first time I happened
to discover it when I went to look something up online and got infected here,
BAD infected, the second time the copany that owns the site got a call from
overseas saying something was wrong..
