I got rid of a virus that was on the computer, but now the Norton AntiVirus message keeps popping up saying the virus was found and deleted. There aren't any traces of it that I've seen, but the popups won't go away, even with a system restore. Anything I can do?

run norton anti virus to make sure it has gone, then aslong as your computer is running fine, go in to start/ all programs/ accessories/ system tools / system restore, now turn off all monitoring of hard drives wait for the egg time to clear and turn them back on, this will remove any virus info that has been automaticaly saved in volume information found hidden on every drive, and also saved in system restore. and you should be ok.

hope this helps

Is the pop-ups saying that the virus is located in System Volume Information
folder? If so, turn off system restore....reboot computer.....turn restore
back on and manually create a new restore point.

The popup is saying that the virus was found and automatically deleted. It keeps popping up every time I open a web site, or a new page loads. I can't seem to get rid of it.
