virus help

i tried to restore my computer to a earlier time said i
had virus so reinstall couldnt take place now when my
computer is left idle a pop up appears saying i have
trojen horse dialer in volume file it says to scan avg
which ive done but it says i have no virus someone please
help its driving me nuts i have tried reinstalling to
earlier time but pop up still happens

If it says that the trojan is in 'system volume information' then this means
that the problem is within one of your 'restore points' thus it is that an
AVG-scan will not detect it, whereas the AVG-resident-shield will see it.

Assuming that above is correct, then to solve the problem;
Turn of 'System Restore', reboot, turn on 'System Restore', reboot

Note; to access options for SR, 'Control Panel' / System Icon / 'System
Restore' tab
