virus causing new broswer windows to open?

I think I have a virus of some sort but can't figure out what it is. New IE
browser windows randomly open up on my PC, whether I'm using it or not. I
leave it to sleep at night only to find in the morning that it never slept
and I have 20+ new open browser windows - all with various search engine
results. Is anyone experiencing anything similar? I tried a full scan with
Norton and it found nothing. I used the Windows Malicious Software tool and
every time I use it, it says it detects and deletes the worm win32 mytob.dq
@mm. I tried to follow the directions to manually remove that worm's files
myself but the ones it's supposed to create are not found on my PC -- I'm
thinking maybe I have a bug that is disguising itself as that worm? I don't
know what to do next and am looking for any and all advice if anyone has some.
