Virus attack of adding URLs to my browser

I was hit with the VerifierBug.class virus (many other
Norton 2003 users have been also hit)

I was told via my computer support person to erase the
index.dat files, but that did not work.

Please provide me with a solution or inform Microsoft to
please fix provide a solution.

To my knowledge, no such virus exists and has been reported by the
anti-virus vendors. Were did you obtain this information?
