I use the Opera browser, Ad-Aware and Zonelab including the Zonelab virus
program. I can't seem to get rid of Virtumonde. Ad-Aware deletes it when I
run the program but it soon shows up again. Does anyone have any
suggestions about how to get rid of this spyware/virus or whatever it is?

Thanks,
Craig

Hi,

I ran FixVundo.exe and the message at the end was that it couldn't find
Virtumonde or any other trojan/spyware. I then ran Ad-aware again and it
found it. I'm confused. Any other suggestions?

Craig

I would go with FixVundo's conclusion. Ad-Aware may find a remnant
such as a registry entry.

After trying like 15 spyware removal tools, someone recommended Webroot
Spy Sweeper to me, and it got rid of Virtumonde on the first try. It
has a 14-day free trial, so you don't have to buy it to use it. The
impressive thing about this program is that it starts up before Windows
is fully loaded thus making it one of the few that can catch
regenerating malware. Good luck.

Perhaps Virtumonde is in your Restore if you are using WinXP. If so, you would
have to get rid of your restore points first.
AdAware should tell you the location of that file.
