virtualised folder

I'm reading this online pdf doc and decide to save a copy to finish
later.
IE7 tells me that for security reasons it has saved a copy in temp net
files and do I want to open this folder.
I say ok and navigate to this folder and find this file along with
others that had also not saved to my desktop.
Why can't i save direct to the desktop?
What is this virtualised folder structure?

I don't recall having this problem with other files or shortcuts. Just
pdfs.

Hi Jay,

You may want to check with Adobe on this as it is limited to their file type
and software. Most likely guess I have is that you are using an older
version of Acrobat and may need to upgrade. Incidentally, saving to a temp
'net folder is not virtualization. Virtualization is loading copies of a
program's files and data to the user's appdata directory and executing from
there.

Thanks, I know about the usage of temp internet folders etc but it was
MS's pop up message that asked the Q.
I looked through my C drive and found....
C:\Users\Jay\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
\Virtualized\C\Users\Jay\Desktop

I don't have Adobe Acrobat I have a product called PDF Complete.

Hi Jay,

That folder path is being created by the program you are using, not the
operating system. I don't know anything about that particular bit of
software, so I cannot really assist you with any of its particulars. You
should speak with the program's own support area.

Thanks. The bit that gets me is that IE says that for security reasons
*it* has saved the file to the above path/folder and offers me the
chance to open the folder.
To be honest I can't even remember where this program came from.
Probably preinstalled with the HP OEM build.
It isn't a major though. I was just curious.

Maybe someone else has a similar problem.

Who you crappin'!?

Same "Jay" in all the posts.

Same "Jay" in all the posts.

If you are insinuating that that Jay is myself then I can assure you
it is not.
I own neither a printer nor a copy of acrobat let alone a 64 bit
version of vista.
Were my name and their's "John" would you jump to the same false
conclusion?

All posts? I started this thread and pointed to a single post on a
different forum.
