Mmmmmm... I really want a milkshake now! I actually bought a blender with the aim of making Mango Lassi, but I can't get it to taste right!

Mango (tinned :o ) - lots of these
Milk - splash of this
Yogurt - big dollop
Ice - handful
Bit of Sugar - spoonful

All mixed in a blender :D

As you can see from my quantities I use, its not very precise - hence the reason that it doesn't taste quite right (not bad though).

Standard Mango Lassi

Ingredients
1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped (or tinned mango or tinned mango pulp)
150ml/5fl oz milk
175ml/6fl oz natural yogurt
2 tsp sugar

Method
1. Put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz.
2. Pour into glasses and add some ice cubes.

Serves 2 (Ian and Becky thats who!) :D

Indian Style Mango Lassi

  • 2 cups canned mango nectar
  • 3 cups plain yogurt
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 Tbs. plus 1 tsp. rosewater
Place all ingredients in a blender and mix thoroughly.

This should be cosidered a proper method for an exotic drink from an exotic fruit.

Cheers! Thats just what I was looking for, they look like quite different proportions to what I was using so that's probably why mine went wrong!

Royal Mango Lassi

Ingredients:

1 cup diced fresh mango
1/2 cup chilled orange juice
3 tbsp honey
2 cups milk, chilled
1 tsp Garden rose petals, optional

Method:

1. Combine diced mango, orange juice & honey in food processor. Blend for 1 1/2 minutes. Keep aside.
2. Pour milk into processor & process till it has expanded & become frothy.
3. Add the mango puree to the milk and process for about 1 minute.
4. Pour into glasses with some ice cubes. Garnish with the rose petals if desired.
5. Serve immediately.
Serves 4

Make mine a martini, shaken, not stirred. Failing that a milk shake will do. Nice site Ian and Co.

cheers

Let's party!

The new site seems good, and so do the Lassis. Can I have mine with extra peaches added?

Cheers!
