Dear All,

I need help. I am working at a software company which
currently have our app installed in C, D, E drive on
servers as System, Apps, Data partition.

We are having a client who does not have E drive and can
not (do not have option) to add E drive.
The situation is more like this:

1. Need to get our apps installed on one server which
currently being used. Only has C,D.

2. Need to add somekind of Virtual "E" drive, because
client do not want to add partition. (Partition Magic is
not an option here).

3. No option to change code in our Apps since it is
hardcoded for C,D,E. And no approval.

If anyone knows how to create virtual drive in a same
machine, please respond.
Any input will be appreciated.
I am scratching my head here.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks Bob,
However it does not work with "Windows Installer" after
trying it.

Any other idea?

Physical resizing of D and creation of E will erase data on D. You
will need a third party software like VirtualDrive to create a file
that will act as drive or even pretend to be a CD drive. There are
some freeware programs that will do this for a limited number of
drives. Reliability and success at your own risk. Here is a link
http://www.farstone.com/home/en/index.shtml I have had some but
limited (W2K troubles at times) success with VirtualDrive.

That's interesting. Ok, how about sharing "D" and then Map "E" back to a
subdirectory. Just wild guess there as I have never tried it.
