My PC is low on virtual memory. Can someone explain that to me please and
should I do to fix it?

How much RAM memory. Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring Task Manager and
select the Performance Tab. What is the Commit Charge? What was the
Peak?

Your hard drive? Is it partitioned? How much free space on
each partition. How is the drive formatted -FAT32 or NTFS. To
get this information whilst in Windows Explorer place the cursor on the
drive, right click and select Properties.

Try Start, All Programmes, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to
Empty your Recycle Bin and Remove Temporary Internet Files.

Delete all but the most recent Restore Point ( Start, Programs,
Accessories, System
Tools, Disk Cleanup, More options).

Run Disk Defragmenter by selecting Start, All Programs, Accessories,
System
Tools, Disk Defragmenter.

Hope this helps.

The usual cause for this message is that the pagefile is too small. You
should ensure that you are letting Windows determine the size. Will Denny
gave an excellent place to add to your understanding of virtual memory
handling in Windows XP.

Those items mentioned by Gerry Cormell address reasons why the pagefile
cannot be extended (among many others - it always a good idea to get rid of
the trash).

If your motherboard uses an intel chipset you might benefit from installing
the install accelerator from www.intel.com Be advised that this is only for
intel chipsets and only for those listed.
