First, I am no tech; just another person trying to learn
and solve problems as I go...
Second, there is another Virtual Memory post just a few
lines down from yours that may also be helpful.
Your RAM of 256mb should be much more than adequate for
normal, everyday tasks. If, in fact, you only have 30mb
free space on your HD, I would think that could cause
problems. If your system is set-up so that Windows
automatically configures the amount of VM, that amount is
a set % of RAM. You can also choose to manually set the
max amt. of VM - not sure what the advantage is. In
either case, 30mb of HD space is probably too small. I
have to think of it in terms I understand:: 3.5" Floppys
are ~1.44mb. The space remaining on your HD is ~20.8333
Floppys [30mb divided by 1.44mb]. That's almost nothing
in terms of HD space.
Hope the info was helpful. Take Care - Jeff S.
