virtual memory

I have an ongoing problem where my virtual memory is
getting low and the page file is being increased. I have
128mb of RAM.
Aside from adding RAM, how can I fix this?
I upgraded from ME to XP.
Under ME, I'd occasionally run msconfig to remove
unnecessary items from my start menu.
Will that work with XP? If so which items MUST I keep on
the start menu.

Adding RAM is the best thing you can do. 128 MB is really inadequate for a
computer running XP. The least your computer would be happy with is 256 MB,
and 512 MB (in total) would be best. Find out first what is the maximum
amount of memory your computer can handle.

Choosing what items should start with Windows is entirely up to you. For
