Virtual Memory settings won't stick

Upon bootup, I get an error message that says - you either have no paging
file or it's too small.......... yadda, yadda, finish booting, go to
computer/properties/performance/advanced/virtual memory, put in a custom
size, usually 1024, for each of my 2 hard drives (which have plenty of
room), apply, ok, etc, get message that says I have to reboot for settings
to take effect, reboot, new settings don't take effect. Several times, I
could see paging files set up on the individual hard drives, but at the
bottom, where it says Total Paging file on all drives, it still says zero.

Thoughts? XP pro, service pak 2.

Any help would be appreciated

Good luck

I installed the latest version of Intel's Application Accelerator, as per
Alex's instructions, and Boom! I now have a pagefile.

Thanks

I've had this problem for so long that I can't remember when it started.
I've been doing some new things recently, and I've found some that I can't do
because of the virtual memory being too low. It was finally time to take
some action because all of my previous tries to fix this have failed.

After I read your post below, I too installed the Intel Application
Accelerator, and when I rebooted, I had a paging file. WOW! Amazing! I'm
now off and running.

Thanks,
Jan
