Every time I try to save my movie files to either hard drive I get the low on
virtual memory message.

I have defraged, done the disk clean up, scanned for male ware and spy ware
and deleted programmes I don't use but still the same message.

What uses up virtual memory, is there a way to look at what is in the
virtual memory so that I can delete what is not needed?

I have a video on youtube which has over 1400 comments, is that the sort of
thing taking up virtual memory?

Thanks for any help.

What is the duration of the movies and
which format are you saving in?

It's good to keep your system up to date
and well maintained.

What size is your hard drive and what
portion of it is free space?

The programs you are running use the
virtual memory. It may be worth a try
to disconnect from the net and close all
programs...especially virus scanners
before you open Movie Maker.

Hello

I closed down the scanners/virus/malware programmes before opening WMM and
this time 40 secs of the video saved, that is 40 secs of footage but the full
4 min 40 sec song. I am saving as wmv. I am using clips from the same fie
which downloads in the first 40 secs, it is either avi, divx or xvid and I
have tried reencoding but the encoder reads that the files are corrupt but
why does some of the file save and not the rest?

In drive C I have 30.94GB - 43% free and drive E 270Gb - 57% free.

If the files are corrupt...that is the problem.
Why? is a big question...maybe it freezes
when it finds the corrupt frames.

Can you download another copy of the file
and try to convert it to .wmv before importing
into Movie Maker?

You may be able to convert the file with SUPER...
also VirtualDubMod may be worth a try. There
is not a simple method that works every time for
every user.

Good luck.
