Hi! I've posted twice in the last week due to a spyware
application I could not get rid of -DSO Exploit. No one
had any suggestions. I've been have other problems too
numerous to mention. Now when I try to log on I get the
not enough virtual memory message. I had to use my wxp
cdrom to boot. I'm able to get on now, but many
applications aren't working and I simply don't know what
to do. I can't find any way to diagnose anything. I
tried 2 system restores to no avail....

Can anyone direct me to a web site or give me any useful
suggestion? (short of taking a sledge hammer to the
consdole!) Thank you

Virtual memory relates directly to ram memory you have on the board
You can,R.click my computer,properties,advanced,virtual-memory,clic
the change button. The displayed amount should be,Max.,3X ram Min.1 1/2
ram.Setting it to"let windows manage" then click set button 2X installs it
Then close out, increasing the amount of ram, increases virtual memory,or addin
a slave hd,and setting it to "let windows manage" doubles virtual memory

Gets more info although sometimes confusing.

A re-install of XP requires a re-install of applications.. virtual memory
error messages give an indication of hard drive space decreasing.. if you
have a folder called Windows.000, you have two installations within the same
partition.. you would be well advised to start over.. boot from the XP cd
and use the partition and format options before you accept the XP
installation.. if you are not sure what you are doing, get a computer savvy
friend to help you..
