Virtual Drive in XP

Can you create a Virtual Drive in XP OS just as Windows ME did when using a
Startup Disk?
MS Streets & Trips runs too slow from the CD.
MS Streets & Trips was copied to the HD but it will not install nor run from
there.
Have you created a Virtual Drive in the XP OS that MS Streets & Trips can be
copied into to run the program from there?

Thanks from New Orleans.

Many CD burning apps support virtual CD drives (e.g., Nero, Alcohol 120%).
I use Alcohol myself. You simply rip the CD to a file (usually ISO or some
proprietary format), than mount it to the virtual CD drive. Alcohol
supports multiple virtual CD drives, very nice. Of course, some CDs may be
protected, so it's important to find a program that can (ehmm) circumvent
these issues :)

But there's no "built-in" virtual CD drive support in XP.

Thank you. I found some apps that, ehmm, did the job. Now Streets runs
very fast, faster, fastest
