I recently purchased a beautiful new Viewsonic p220f
monitor and installed in on my pc. Eveything works great
except for one thing: my new monitor is flat screened, but
windows still thinks I am using a standard curved screened
CRT, so there is a slight curve to the bottom and top of my
desktop (so that if I was using a standard CRT, it would
appear to be flat). I have fiddled around with the advanced
settings in the display properties window, but to no avail.
Any advice on how to make the desktop as flat as my monitor
would be great!

Visit http://www.viewsonic.com/products/crt_p220f.htm and
download/install the drivers for your new monitor. Also, make
sure you have the latest video adapter drivers installed.

Afterward, use ClearType to tune your monitor:

(click on 'ClearType Tuner Updated')

This happened to me when I first used my pf790. It was that
my eyes were used to looking at a curved screen. It went away
after I got used to the flat screen. There were a lot of write ups
about this 2 or 3 years ago.
