ViewScan Pro 8.3.74: Noise (?) on final scan - but not on saved preview

Having a few problems with rogue red and yellow pixels in small areas of
final scans from my otherwise reliable Canon FS2710.

Strange thing, though, is that if I save the preview image (I'm only
scanning for web use right now) they're clean, suggesting it's not the
scanner which is at fault.

I've tried saving as TIFF + JPEG, using various profiles, but to no avail.
Colour balance is set to either None or Manual (RGB values 1 each) as I
always prepare all scanned images in Photoshop.

Hmmm......

Incidentally, this VSP release seems otherwise fine, with improved redraw
times for preview crops, etc.

Have you emailed Ed about the problem? He's just one guy but I've found
him to be very responsive when I've encountered problems.

Good idea, of course - just wondered whether anyone else recognised this
effect using other scanners, in which case it would probably not be
hardware-specific.

Thanks, as ever,

I've not seen this with the FS4000US. What I have seen are
single-pixel wide colored bands (red, green) going across the shadow
areas of some slide scans. A free action called "minolta fix" can
fully get rid of this if it appears.
