Viewing Website on Computer

Ok, this is a loaded question but I have to ask before I go insane :-) I
have to do a presentation tomorrow with the website that I have been doing
for a long time. We will not have an internet connection so I need to run
the files off of my hard drive. I click on the index file and it opens just
fine. Click on the various links off the home page and those work just fine.
All except for ONE! When I get to this particular page, I try to click on
the 5 links that are on there, and those pages will not open. Everything
works just fine on the published site - just not on my darn computer. The
bad thing is that particular page is the one that I REALLY need to be able to
access other pages from. Oh - I'm using FP 2002.
I hope this made sense, and I would greatly appreciate any and all advice.
Thanks in advance...

What is site address and which page is giving you trouble. Most of the code
can problably ve viewed and maybe we can see whats giving you trouble.

This is for FrontPage 2000 but it will also work in FrontPage 2002.

What you want to do will only work if "All" the pages and links are within
your web and you are not using any server side scripting on the pages.

Worth a try

Yes, it was worth the try. But I am encountering the same problem yet.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Youc could try these (no guarantee):

1. Do HTML validation of fo the file and correct any tags...sometimes a
mssing or wrong tag can cause broswer dispaly poblems

2. Try cleaning the FP temp directories (or look for FPcleaner utiltie
inthe archives)

3. Save a copy of the file to the desktop and import back into the FP
web to overwrite

3. Rename the file name on the FP web, then import a new copy with at
that anme.

My only thought is to publish from the site back to a folder on your hard
drive and see if that works.

Validate All your links (some are pointing to your hard disc) like

href="../../../../My%20Documents/My%20Webs/myweb16/pdf/2005%20WEMAConstitutionandby-laws.pdf">

PS
remove all spaces from all file and folder names

if you are trying to open the links from the "preview" mode in Frontpage,
that may not work. Try the Preview in Browser option instead.
