viewing SOME jpg's

On a web page that I often use, members put pix of their boats. All of the
images that I checked ( via "properties" )were jpg images. Those that I
could view said ( TYPE JPG or maybe JPEG). The ones that I could not view,
said under TYPE "not available". Yet, ALL of the pix had the extension of
..jpg...but only SOME were not viewable.

Approximately 80 % of the total number of images ( maybe 50 or so ) so were
not viewable by ME, yet other members were viewing and commenting on the
pictures.

I presume that I have some setting incorrectly blocking those images. Can
anyone help?
thanks RichG (e-mail address removed)

There's a (reletively) new format for JPeGs - JPeG 2000.
Not all viewers work with files encoded using it. You
might consider upgrading your viewer to see if that's it.

And my "viewer" is?????? Sorry but I am a neophyte at this. What "viewer"
might I have?? and I presume once I know the name or vendor, I can go to
their site and get a current update. Thanks very much for any help!!!

You probably just need to delete your Temporary Internet files.
In IE6, click on Tools, Internet Options. A widow will open. Click on the
Delete button in the middle of the window.

I deleted the Temporary Internet Files ( which I do from time to time), to
no avail. Thanks for the idea. Any others??

I know little or nothing about all of this, but think the only "constant" is
that the files that I can see...the TYPE = jpg the files that I cannot see
the TYPE = "not available", as well as SIZE = "Not Available" .

A specific pix that I cannot open is at
http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=39699&page=1 from
"GraphixGuy" ( the first picture in the long list of files) ....... ....Yet,
just a few entries below that...a file that I CAN see is at
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid39/pbb20719f9ac3929d07a2874487a2050d/fd0673fc.jpg

Any help is appreciated. I have ZoneAlarm and Norton Systemworks running
at all times. I wonder if one of the settings is blocks SOME jpegs, but not
ALL jpegs. Some that I CAN see are jpg's...some that I cannot see are
jpg's..???... Thanks RichG
