Is it possible to view the data in the backup files
located in the \%systemroot%\repair\Regback folder so
that you can compare settings from the previous
configuration with the current ones?

Thanks in advance

Steve,

You can use Regedt32.exe to load the hives, by selecting Load Hive from the Regist;ry menu, into the registry. This will
prompt you for a name, say TEST, and you will then see a key called TEST show up. Once you done you will need to
unload the hive, by Unload Hive from the Registry menu. This will save the hive back to the folder you loaded it to.

If you do this I would recommend making a copy of the Regback folder and using it and not the actual Regback folder.
This way you do not run the risk of acidently saving something back to the Regback folder that you do not want to.
