I realize that this may be a similar problem as what Bing
is having, but I figured if this site is being watched by
the Microsoft Staff then perhaps to questions may help
get a quick answer?

I have created my site using Front Page, and have just
upgraded to FP2002 and I am still having the same
problems?

When I created my site everything looked like it was
spaced properly (wysiwyg), however when viewed on
different computers (15" monitor, 17" monitor) it all
looks higgily piggily? Is there something that we are
missing?

Is there a simple fix or do I have to start all over
again?

I created my site by placing text and images in locations
that visually looked correct, I did not use tables or
cells.

The problem also exists with my "water marked background"
it looks great on my screen, but again way off-line on
others.

I have posted a "under construction" page for now, but if
it needs to be viewed to answer my question, then I would
be happy to open it up.

Thanks for your help,

Provide URL. However the easiest approach is to use tables to structure your
page layout.

Thanks for the quick response.

Our addy is www.salex-marnik.com

The problem pages (that I have noticed so far) are under
the heading of "Projects" or "Events" On a smaller screen
everything looks out of place (including text) on a
larger screen everything looks stretched out.

Thanks again,

John

This is really not a FP issue or MS issue, it is a design issue. If you want
your content be positioned in the same relative location for all users, then
use tables to structure your page layout.

Also many users of Windows XP, IE6 and NS6 and up, may not be able to
navigation your web site because they do not have the Java Virtual Machine
(JVM) installed, which is required for any Java applet to work, such as the
FP Java Hover Button applet. Look into using JavaScript Image mouse over
scripts instead, which work even if the user has disabled JavaScript.

Hi Thomas,

So the long and the short of it is, I have to do it all
over again?

If that's the case, then why have a (wysiwyg) section? Or
am I not understanding what that means?

As for my mouse overs (thanks for the heads up), I used
the mouse over option (hover button) from FP? So does
that mean that I should use something different?

I know that these may appear to be silly questions to
you, however this is the first time that I have tried to
build a web site.

Thanks again for you help / insite.

Hi John,

Yes to a degree, you have to re-do your pages. Wysiwyg is still valuable
when working with tables, but you have to test you site in different
browsers and at different resolution.

As replace for the Hover buttons, you need to search for JavaScript Mouse
over script or under FP Help, look for DHTML content or effects. Personally,
I try to stay with plain text links, and use CSS mouse overs to change the
link color.

Now I'm wishing that I had just hired somebody to do
this. lol

Armed with the information you have given me, I will
embark on another 6 month journey and try and get this
right.

Thanks again for your time and assistance.

All going well you won't hear from me again?!?

Best regards,

John
