VIEWING PROBLEM - NOT THE MONITOR

A couple of weeks ago we started having a problem which we thought was our
monitor going out. There are gray bars going horizontally across the
screen. The gray bars are only where there is printing or an image. In
other words, where the background is clear with no image or printing, there
aren't any gray bars. Also the color is off but I think that is because of
the gray bars. We bought a new monitor and it is doing the exact same
thing. So now that we know it isn't the monitor, what could it be?

TIA for your help.

I agree with Rick.

Try uninstalling the Video Card (Display Adapter) in the Device Manager.
Then reboot. Windows will re-install the video card. If it still has the
problem, check the video card makers web site for updated drivers and install
them.

If you still have the problem, looks like you may need to look into getting
a new video card. Check with your PC maker to see if it is still under
warranty.
